What Causes Depression?

What causes depression? Well there are various factors which lead to depression. It is a very common phenomenon. The sensation passes after some time if it is not a chronic one. What causes depression? The answer to this question is that depression can be caused due to loneliness, sadness, low self esteem and inner frustration.

Causes of depression cannot be confined to one condition. There might be various reasons for depression. Causes of depression vary. It might be some stressful event for one person where as it can be illness or bereavement for the other individual.

Medical science is doing a lot of researches on “What causes depression”. Many people who have chronic and life long ailments are victims of depression.

People who have broken relationship or have suffered an abuse often fall into depression. Initially it might start with being low always but gradually with time it takes the shape of depression. There have been studies on what cause depression? Studies reveal that there are multiple factors which can trigger depression. It is a complex state and a culmination of various stressful events can cause depression.

Depression is common among people who have some personality disorder. People who have low self esteem and confidence level are many a times victims of depression. Depression may be due to genetic problem or it might be hereditary. Many a times suffering and loss of loved ones in childhood profoundly affects the mental condition and causes depression.

Traits of depression can be found among women post pregnancy. These are due to hormonal changes. Social isolation triggers depression. Being isolated from friends and relatives initiates this feeling. Use of drugs and alcohol also makes a person fall into depression. Thus, depression is a result of amalgamation of both internal and external factors.
